In the ten years since the launch of YouTube, the
video-sharing website has become the go-to destination for guides on how to do
just about anything. Woodworkers are generous folk and many are taking to
YouTube to share their skills and help us all improve our craft. Tool reviews,
shop tours, project ideas and tips of the trade are all available online for
anyone looking for woodworking news and information.
There is a growing community of woodworkers with their own
specialist YouTube channels, some of whom make their living from doing what
they love, sharing projects and ideas with viewers. One of the woodworking
YouTubers is April Wilkerson Triton
Brand Champion for the USA who also provides valuable feedback on product
development. April is the first to admit that she is relatively new to
woodworking but with a passion for making and a determination to learn and
share her knowledge she has gained a committed following for her YouTube
channel.
Triton Tools caught up with April at her workshop in Texas,
USA, to find out more about how she has turned her woodworking hobby into a
successful YouTube channel that is now her full-time job.

5/19/2019 USA Grandpa Bill (Meticularius): Meticularius speaks: As a 71-year-old woodworker, destroyer, and reconstructionist, I feel inspired to say to all global viewers that beside Sir David Attenborough, April Wilkerson is the healthiest and finest on-screen presentation of any platform available to viewers old and young. She brings us herself and her family and her friends as an ambassador of goodwill, personal growth, and victories. If I had a daughter I would want her to be April. Her rise on Youtube is a testament to the American Spirit long heralded since our forefathers. My grandfather, Alexander Hamilton, and his cronies would have eschewed April's attitudes unless she was chopping wood and making soap in a cast iron kettle. April's "I can do this" fostered by her father is illustrative of the healthy relationship between father and daughter, so vivid against the backdrop of so many abusive relationships today. YouTube has the unique opportunity to foster such presentations to assist in growing a healthier America, while unfortunately providing a platform for some pretty sick stuff in obscure corners. I say we owe our children and our grandchildren the quality of April Wilkerson's daily growth as a developing fellow adult. Her journey is in a way our own journey through the wilderness of "Huh?" to the vista of "Ohh YEH!"

ReplyDeleteI have been in woodworking in all aspects in all venues from a kid hanging with my Dad I recall back at age 4!! Yes it was ingrained in me. And it's never left me to this day at 70.
I first saw you on chrimson Guitar school with your wood man,friend person. I fell in love with the work and well all I saw,heard,humor personality.
The attention to detail did not scare you,it was second nature in ways to you. Then came the box tied in the split maple.I WAS BLOWN AWAY
I said I recall,I've got a blessed woman hear.
So to get ahead hear. I searched on my you tube found you building you SHAP!!@ WOO..Don't know how you e ER did that but again I said..this gal has her focus on what she is doing in dll aspects of .."life",I felt at that point.
Ok I Need to know more about your plans are you wonderful family,lovely Mom,and Dad.Oh the outdoor shower with her was wonderful feeling for u both.
